The Honda Vezel is a series of subcompact SUVs produced by Japanese automaker Honda. The 1st Generation Honda Vezel was introduced in 2013 and quickly gained popularity in Pakistan. Known as the Honda HR-V in other regions, it is based on Honda’s Global Compact Series platform, shared with models like the Honda Fit, HR-V, and City.

In 2021, Honda launched the 2nd generation Vezel with four variants, three of which are hybrid models: Honda Vezel e-HEV Play, Honda Vezel e-HEV X, and Honda Vezel e-HEV Z, all equipped with a 1500cc automatic hybrid engine. The Honda Vezel G variant features a 1496cc petrol engine.

Exterior

The exterior of the 2nd Generation Honda Vezel showcases Honda’s distinctive design language. It features sleek narrow side swept headlights with tube-designed LED daytime running lights and a bold chrome grille. The front also includes a trapezium air intake and dual fog lights. The rear design is equally striking with a roof spoiler housing an integrated brake light, sharp side swept taillights, and a standard case tailgate.

Interior

Inside, the 2024 Honda Vezel offers a modern interior with black plastic trim pieces. The seats are upholstered in black fabric in the e-HEV X and e-HEV Z variants, while the e-HEV Play variant features beige fabric. A leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment features cruise control and radar control on the left and multimedia controls on the right. The dashboard combines hard and soft plastic, hosting a 9-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Automatic dual-zone climate control ensures passenger comfort, complemented by 10 strategically placed speakers for excellent audio quality. The Vezel also provides ample storage space, including a flat luggage area with versatile rear seats that fold in multiple directions. Hands-free access to the tailgate is facilitated by the Honda smart key.

Features

Standard features across variants include power and heated door mirrors, power windows, power steering, cruise control, hill descent control, and power door locks. Safety features include 8 airbags for occupant protection.

Honda Connect

The Vezel introduces Honda Connect, offering a digital key for locking/unlocking via smartphone, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, automatic navigation updates, remote operation of vehicle functions, and alerts for unlocked status.

Engine

The Honda Vezel 2024 is equipped with e

hybrid technology, offering three driving modes: EV mode for electric-only driving, Hybrid mode combining engine and electric power, and Engine mode using engine-generated power alone.

Mileage

The 2nd Generation Honda Vezel achieves an average mileage of 15-22 KM/L, with an estimated range of 600 to 1080 KM from its 40-liter fuel tank.

Ride & Handling

The Vezel delivers a comfortable driving experience with driver-assist features like hill descent control and anti-lock braking system (ABS), although its suspension leans towards a stiffer ride typical of subcompact SUVs.

Maintenance

While popular, maintenance of the Vezel can be challenging due to the cost and availability of spare parts.

Competitors

Competitors to the Honda Vezel include the Toyota C-HR, Nissan Juke, BMW X1, and Audi Q3 in Pakistan. Each offers unique features and pricing advantages within the hybrid SUV segment.
