Overview: The Suzuki Wagon R, locally assembled by Pak Suzuki Motors in Pakistan, is a front-engine, front-wheel-drive hatchback. Known as the Pak Suzuki Wagon R, this version differs from the models available in India and Indonesia. The Pakistani variant boasts an advanced AC system, a 2-DIN integrated 9-inch LCD option, defoggers, and a boot parcel tray.

Pak Suzuki imports the Wagon R as a knock-down kit from Indonesia and assembles it in Pakistan. Introduced in April 2014 with three trim levels (VX, VXR, and VXL), the VX trim was discontinued in 2016. In January 2020, the VXL trim was upgraded with AGS automated-manual transmission and a driver-side airbag.

Exterior: The first-generation Suzuki Wagon R features a boxy design typical of Suzuki’s styling. Keyless entry with an immobilizer, a light-off and key reminder alarm are standard. The VXL adds power windows, central door locking, security alarm, remote control door locks, turn-over type outside door mirrors, under-seat tray, and tachometer. Both variants have a 2-speaker stereo audio system with CD, AUX, and USB input, front window defroster, side demister, and rear window demister.

Engine: The Suzuki Wagon R is powered by a 1.0-liter Euro 2 petrol engine with a displacement of 998cc, generating 50 kW at 6200 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm.

Mileage: The first-generation Wagon R can achieve an average of up to 14 km/l in urban areas and 17 km/l on highways, giving it an estimated range of up to 490 km to 595 km from its 35-liter fuel tank.

Ride and Handling: The Suzuki Wagon R is easy to handle with a good weight-to-power ratio. It offers a smooth ride and easy drivability. However, the engine becomes louder and vibrates more intensely as speed increases, which is common in three-cylinder engines. The 5-speed transmission is smooth with minimal gear lag.
