Toyota Corolla Cross

Manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota, the Toyota Corolla Cross is a compact crossover SUV launched in 2020. As a new addition to the popular Corolla series, the Corolla Cross expands the range, offering a hybrid option with a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE engine. This engine produces 98 hp and 142 Nm of torque, complemented by an electric motor generating 72 hp and 163 Nm of torque.

Interior

The steering wheel varies by trim, with leather wrapping in the premium and mid-grade trims, and urethane in the low-grade trim. All trims feature electrically powered steering with tilt and telescopic adjustment, and steering switches. Dual automatic air conditioning is available in the premium and mid-grade trims, with single-mode automatic air conditioning in the low-grade trim.

Safety

The Corolla Cross is equipped with a range of safety features including Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), vehicle stability control, clearance and back sonar, and hill start assist. All variants come with airbags and 6 seatbelts with IsoFix.

Engine

The Toyota Corolla Cross features a 1798cc hybrid engine producing 168 hp and 305 Nm of torque, paired with a Direct Shift CVT transmission.

Mileage

The Corolla Cross offers a mileage of 18 KM/L in the city and 20 KM/L on the highway, with a 36-liter fuel tank.

The Corolla Cross provides a smooth riding experience with efficient suspensions that absorb shocks well. The car handles easily with minimal body roll, though the engine may feel underpowered at high speeds.

Maintenance

The Corolla Cross, like other Toyota vehicles, requires infrequent maintenance. However, its auto parts are not readily available in Pakistan due to its non-local assembly.

The Toyota Corolla Cross competes with the Haval Jolion, Kia Sportage, MG HS, and Hyundai Tucson in terms of price and body type. However, none of these rivals offer a hybrid option. The Honda Vezel, an imported vehicle, is the only hybrid competitor in the same category.
